The Brisbane Hustlers Rugby Union Club will be holding their 2017 Open Day on January 14th at New Farm Park, from 3 pm.
The Open Day is an opportunity for players and supporters alike to come and get more information on the club’s 2017 goals, meet current members, have a sausage sizzle, and maybe even play some touch football.
If you’ve thought about playing rugby, but weren’t sure where to begin – then this is the perfect event. We will have members in attendance who have joined in the last year that can talk to you about their experience with the club and what to expect. If you’ve played rugby for years, we will also have some seasoned vets with whom you can diagnose the current Wallabies pitfalls.
We hope to see you down there!

Saturday 17 January, 2015
From 10:00 am.
Bottomley Park, Halifax Street, Coorparoo
After a very successful year competing in the Purchas Cup, the Bingham Cup and the Brisbane suburban rugby competition, the Scotney cup, the team have started preparations for the 2015 season.
With a strong contingent of new and returning players, the team began preseason strength and fitness testing to establish individual goals for both the 2014 off-season, and 2015 preseason.
Enlisting the help of the team at Hammer Athletic, Matt and Riley took the Hustlers through a rigorous battery of strength, speed and core testing – key elements in the making of a rugby player. After initial testing, the results and milestones were shared with the whole playing group – making for some playful rivalries amongst the team.
After a dominant performance in the 2014 Bingham Cup, the long term goal is again, to show the world what Brisbane has to offer – but this road is long and the club continues to charge through a number of short term goals to achieve this. Leading into the 2015 Brisbane suburban rugby competition, the club will be well prepared with various open days and training schedules to commence in early 2015.
If you’re keen to join the Brisbane Hustlers rugby team on their journey through 2015 and into the Bingham Cup 2016, connect with us on Facebook or Twitter, alternatively visit our recruitment or contact us page to register your interest.
The countdown is on to Bingham Cup 2014 in Sydney, and Brisbane Hustlers are hosting some exciting events in the next few months to raise money for the trip.

Previous Event: Trivia Night
Our trivia night kicks off the fundraising and is being held Saturday 21st June at Lightspace. The night will be an entertaining mix of knowledge, games, prizes, raffles and auctions. Top prize is a $1,000 tab thanks to our club sponsor – The Beat Megaclub.
Previous Event: The Rugby Player Screening
On Sunday 20th July, we’ll be holding the Queensland Premiere screening of the acclaimed documentary ‘The Rugby Player’ – a film about Mark Bingham, who the Bingham Cup is named after.
The film explores the lives of Mark Bingham, one of the passengers on United Flight 93 on 9/11, and his mother, Alice Hoagland, a former United Airlines flight attendant. The Rugby Player is a touching, funny and stirring portrait of how a son’s heroism can inspire a nation, and how a mother’s love can turn unfathomable loss into unshakable resolve.
The Hustlers have reached the end of the normal season, with their last game being a home game this Saturday (20 July) from 3pm at Easts Rugby Union Club.
To celebrate a very competitive and well played season the Hustlers welcome all fans, friends and supporters down to the game to watch and enjoy a casual BBQ.
We hope to see many of you down at Easts Rugby Club tomorrow.
